How is the Model 290 protected from wash down?

The Model 290 was designed to withstand being hosed down. The only open access to the inside of the transducer is a Teflon tube inside the cable jacket. The cable is custom manufactured for Setra Systems. There is a material that seals each conductor to each other as well as to the outer jacket and the Teflon tubing.

Where the cable enters the can, epoxy seals off the end of the cable to ensure no water ingress.

The other possibility for water to enter is through the Zero and Span access screws. Under these screw heads, Setra has installed "O" rings as a seal.
